Carolina Hike Series ventures to one of the Southeast’s most beautiful and unique public lands - Congaree Swamp National Park! This diverse ecosystem is home to the largest intact expanse of hardwood bottomland forest in the southeast. Black waters from the Congaree and Wateree Rivers meet to provide this fertile land with the nutrients needed to sustain all manner of birds, fish, amphibians, mammals and reptiles, most of which we’ll learn about at the Harry Hampton Nature Center. A private tour will open your eyes to what this beautiful piece of public property has to offer, and the opportunity to view wildlife, massive trees and wildflowers will leave you speechless.
