Have you ever gazed up at the night sky and wondered what was “out there”? Now’s your chance to view Brasstown Bald’s scenic vista in a whole new light – or dark!
We’ll be meeting up with our astronomy friends for a special program at the highest point in Georgia to discover the hidden mysteries of the state’s darkest sky. Your Georgia-based astronomer and star gazing Captain will be Alex Langoussis. Professionally conducting astronomy research and education programs since 1979, Alex will guide you though the night sky scape while interpreting the wonders of the universe through galactic stories, expertise, and the use of a professional telescope. You’ll be a “Guardian of the Galaxy” after spending an evening learning about the magic of deep space and northern Georgia’s incredible nightscape!
Pre-registration is required. Please scroll down to view the calendar of dates and to register!
What you’ll need: Bring an extra layer of clothing – our higher elevation has cooler temperatures. Please bring a flashlight, the facility lights will be off. Feel free to bring binoculars and a lawn chair! We love pets, but please leave your pets at home.
