North Mills
River is a pristine section of waterway that bisects the recreation area and campground.
Each campsite is only a short
stroll from these swift, cool, shallow waters. Swim and tube,
or fish for Rainbow, Brook and Brown Trout in our beautiful setting located just
outside of Asheville,
North Carolina. Within 30 minutes you will find Pisgah
Ranger Station, where you will find all the information
you need to plan your trip in Pisgah National Forest. The
Cradle of Forestry Historic Site, well-known Looking
Glass Falls, Sliding Rock, Pisgah
Center for Wildlife Education, and the Blue
Ridge Parkway.
Educational programs are offered during the summer months. These
programs include opportunities to learn about animals of the forest
and all aspects of nature and the outdoors.
Within a short
distance from the campground, you will find a grocery store, restaurants,
and shopping. Approximately 20 miles from the campground you will
be downtown Brevard, NC, a small town located in the Blue Ridge
Mountains. It is known for its art, music at the Brevard
Music Center and Porter
Performing Arts Center, waterfalls, and white squirrels.
The town has several annual festivals with entertainment for everyone,
along with many unique shops; specifically our very own Forest
Place Gift Store. Visit the Heart

The campground
is also on the outskirts of Asheville, NC, a small town known
for art, music, crafts, Bele
Chere festival, Biltmore
Estate and Grove
