In order to provide the public with quality, fun environmental education programs and activities, a large support group of agencies must first be in place, and many of them can be found in the southeast! The Cradle of Forestry In America - USDA Forest Service
To stimulate interest in the relationship between people and forests, providing a greater understanding of how forests and forest management benefit our lives and future generations. We will showcase the Cradle's rich heritage as the birthplace of forestry in America and educate the public about forest science.

The Natural Inquirer - USDA Forest Service
The Natural Inquirer is a middle school science education journal created to allow scientists the opportunity to share their research with students around the country. Each article explains the current scientific research conducted by scientists in the USDA Forest Service which may include information on trees, wildlife, insects, outdoor activities, water and anything pertaining to the health of our planet. NC Children and Nature Coalition
NC Children and Nature Coalition (NCCAN!) was formed as a response to the alarming disconnect between today’s children and the natural environment. NCCAN!’s goals are simple, get children and their families to explore, embrace and spend more time outdoors. This encourages the education, mental and physical well-being of all people, especially children, strengthens families, and provides long-term benefits for our society and the natural world.

Children and Nature Network
The Children & Nature Network (C&NN) was created to encourage and support the people and organizations working nationally and internationally to reconnect children with nature. The network provides a critical link between researchers and individuals, educators and organizations dedicated to children's health and well-being.
