Davidson River Campground is a wooded flat campground nestled right inside the Pisgah National Forest, on the outskirts of Brevard, NC. The campground runs along Davidson River, a great place for fishing, tubing, and swimming. Davidson River is a premier trout stream known as “Wild Trout Waters” with Avery Creek and Looking Glass Creek running into the river. From within the campground you can hike the Art Loeb and North Slope Trails, and it is across the street from Pisgah Ranger Station where you will find all the information you need to recreate in Pisgah National Forest. The Cradle of Forestry Historic Site, well-known Looking Glass Falls, Sliding Rock, Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education, and the Blue Ridge Parkway are just minutes from the Campground.
Interpretive and Educational programs are offered during the summer and fall. These programs include opportunities to learn about animals of the forest and all aspects of nature and the outdoors. There are also programs with arts, crafts, and sometimes even a fun movie at the amphitheatre. For more program info visit our education page.
Less than two miles from the campground, you will find a grocery store, restaurants, and shopping. Approximately 6 miles from the campground you will be downtown Brevard, NC, a small town located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is known for its art, music at the Brevard Music Center and Porter Performing Arts Center, waterfalls, and white squirrels. The town has several annual festivals with entertainment for everyone, along with many unique shops; specifically our very own Forest Place Gift Store.
