REGISTRATION and BAG PICK UP

What is the schedule of events?

6:30am - Parking lot opens. Please Carpool!
30k runners please utilize the Pink Beds parking area - follow signs
5k runners please utilize the Cradle of Forestry parking area - follow signs

6:30am - Race Day Check-In / Registration (If spots are available)

8:00am - 30k Race start

8:30am - 5k Race Start

10:00am - 5k Race Awards

11:30am - 4:00pm Race Day Lunch, Entertainment and 30K Race Awards at the Amphitheater/Finish Line 

Can I get a refund or transfer my registration?

All registrations are final and no refunds will be issued. On Active.com you may transfer your registration from the 30k to the 5k or from the 5k to the 30k. You may also transfer your registration to another runner. There is a $5.00 administration cost for any transfers and the additional cost of the race to transfer between the 5k and the 30k.  

If the Race sells out will there be a wait list?

Yes. Please email your contact info to [email protected]  

You will be notified if a race entry becomes available by May 5th.  

Will there be early bag pick up?

Yes, and we hope you will come! Race bags can be picked up at REI in Biltmore Park from Wednesday, May 15 10:00 am through Friday, May 17 12:00 noon during normal business hours.
                                            OR
Race bags may then be picked up at the tasting room of Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard on Friday, May 17 from 4pm – 8pm during our pre-race party featuring the Jeff Sipe Trio. Check out our Other Race Festivities Page for more info. Its sure to be a great scene!

Will there be day-of bag pick up?

Yes, at the check-in table. The gates will open at 6:30am.

Will there be registration the day of the race?

If any spots remain, there will be registration at Oskar Blues Brewery on May 17 4pm – 8pm and Day-of registration starting at 6:30am for both the 5k and the 30k.

Can I push my child in a stroller or baby jogger?

Baby joggers will be allowed on the 5k courses. Please line up at the back of the start line.

How many Aid Stations are available on the 30k?

There will be 6 Aid Stations on the 30k. Each Aid station will be stocked with gels, carbohydrate snacks, water and electrolyte replacement drinks. The race highly suggests you carry your own hydration system or bottle and refill at the Aid Stations. Aid stations are in communication with the Race Administration team and the start/finish line.

How many Water Stations are available on the 5k?

There will be 2 two water stations on the 5k course.

If I can not finish the race what do I do?

Please continue to the closest aid station and inform them of your issue. You may rest there and continue or wait with the aid station volunteers to be driven out at the conclusion of the race. Appropriate emergency personell will be available along the course in case of emergency.

Is there a time limit on the 30k

Yes. The time limit for the race is 7 hours and all racers must be across the finish line by 3:00 pm.

How long is the 30k race?

18.6 miles

What is the terrain on the 30k like?

The 30k is a mix of single track trail, double track trail and forest service road. There are outstanding views and scenery throughout the entire run.

How do I get there?

Please note that many GPS units and popular "driving directions" websites will have you exploring the depths of the beautiful Pisgah National Forest, but often will not get you to the Cradle of Forestry in America Historic Site. Click Here for Directions.

Where can I stay?

Camping will be available at the White Pines North and South Campsite in Pisgah National Forest. Bring some friends and family and make it a weekend to remember with all your running buddies! Camping is $5 per person per night and can be selected during the registration process.
