Beartree Recreation Area & Campground

In the shadow of Mount Rogers and only 8 miles from Damascus, VA, you'll find Beartree Recreation Area. The campground is situated in a rugged section of the George Washington/Jefferson Forest and is a perfect staging point for anyone looking to hike or bike the Virginia Creeper Trail. The 14-acre lake in the day-use area provides families with the chance to swim, fish or relax at the beach.  From within the campground you can also gain access to the Iron Mountain Trail, or take a short trip to the Mount Rogers Scenic byway or Appalachian Trail. Campsites:

Single Campsite - Maximum Occupancy:8 persons, 2 cars - $20
Double Campsite - Maximum Occupancy:16 persons, 4 cars - $40
RV Group Cluster: $50
Tent Group Cluster: $50
Federal Interagency Senior/Access discounts only apply to single standard site rate. Does not apply to any other items or services. Card holder must be present on site to use discount.

Additional persons per vehicle: $.50 per person
