Have you ever gazed up at the night sky…and wondered? We’ll be meeting up with our friends from Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) for a very special series of stargazing programs in Pisgah National Forest. They’ll teach you about star-gazing equipment, telescope use and what constellations you might see during a summer in the mountains.  In the event of cloudy or rainy weather, PARI Educators will move the program indoors for continued activities to teach you what makes our night sky so unique and beautiful.  You’ll help be a “Guardian of the Galaxy” after spending an evening with PARI and Western NC’s incredible nightscape!  This is a rain or shine event.  Pre-registration is required.

What you’ll need
Light jacket, water bottles, fold-up chair, notepad/pencil, NO FLASHLIGHTS!
What to expect: Little to no light, moving indoors in the event of rain, learning about the vastness of space and how to find constellations!
